CORE Knitting Machines Up and Running in New Location

The knitting machines used to manufacture the CORE silt sock mesh have been relocated from our Vienna whitewood operation to our Lordstown, OH facility

Demand for CORE erosion control products is expected to continue growing heading into the second quarter of the fiscal year. The motivation behind the move to Lordstown is primarily to accommodate this growth.

In Vienna, the mesh manufacturing space was around 12,000 square feet of operating space. The square footage at the new operating space in Lordstown is more than double at around 28,000+ square feet.

“Moving a department from one location to another has its challenges. You have to ensure logistics, safety and planning are in place to make this happen, which helped us be successful,” CORE Operations Manager Dwayne Trafka said. “I’m happy to report that all machines, team members and inventory are in place.”

The operation consists of the original 11 knitting machines which were moved from Vienna, as well as two new 18” knitting machines. Nine of the 11 original machines are currently up and running, and the remaining machines are expected to be running in the next couple of weeks.

This move will allow the CORE team to better serve their growing customer base.
